For Windows 11 on Intel or AMD x64 computers. A supported Windows installation, internet access for installation and Microsoft App Installer are required. A native ARM64 download is not offered here yet.
Do I need an account?
No account is needed for the 30-day local Desktop trial. An internet connection and a FolioScripta account are needed to purchase and activate a permanent Desktop licence. After activation you can write offline; keep the licensed account connected in the app. You do not need a cloud subscription for local writing.
Will my books automatically go to the cloud?
Signing in alone does not buy Connected services. Synchronisation requires Connected services or Web Studio access. During a local-only trial your books stay on this computer. Cloud tools, AI reviews and account changes need internet access.
What happens after the trial?
Purchase and activate a permanent Desktop licence to continue editing, or use eligible Web Studio access. If your writing access expires, your saved books remain readable and exportable.
How do I protect my writing?
Use Export & Recovery to make backups and keep a copy on another drive. When using cloud synchronisation, check that your writing has uploaded before continuing on another computer.
What if Windows reports an untrusted publisher?
Cancel the installation and contact us through the website. You should not need to import a test certificate or change Windows security settings to install a public release.
Is there a Mac version?
The macOS app is coming soon. The website is available from your Mac in the meantime.
